Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI) was founded by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in 2000 with the mission of enhancing Hong Kong’s competitiveness through applied research.
ASTRI’s core R&D competence in various areas is grouped under five Technology Divisions: Advanced Electronic Components and Systems; Artificial Intelligence and Trust Technologies; Communications Technologies; IoT Sensing and AI Technologies; and Intelligent Perception and Control Technologies. It is applied across six core areas which are Smart City, Financial Technologies, New Industrialisation and Intelligent Manufacturing, Digital Health, Application Specific Integrated Circuits and Metaverse.
Over the years, ASTRI has nurtured a pool of research, I&T talents and received numerous international awards for its pioneering innovations as well as outstanding business and community contributions. ASTRI has transferred about 1,600 technologies to the industry and has been granted close to 1,200 patents in the Mainland, the United States, and other countries.
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for procurement activities, including purchase requisitions, sourcing, quotation analysis, and purchase orders, PO payment requests, and supplier management process, and ensuring compliance with related policies and procedures
- Negotiate with vendors on price and business terms and conclude the purchase activities
- Responsible for fixed asset management activities of the company
- Assist in managing all documentation and maintain good record trail of transactions
- Assist in ad-hoc projects and report preparation to management when necessary
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or a related discipline
- Minimum of 3 years of purchasing experience in a sizable organization. Candidates with more experience may be considered for a Senior Officer, Procurement role. Fresh graduates or candidates with an Associate Degree and less experience may also be considered for the Assistant Officer position
- Knowledge in sourcing and procurement of corporate services, IT items, professional services or research and development (R&D) products/services
- Proactive, self-motivated, and independent. Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills; good interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, or Power Platform is a plus
- Good command of written and spoken English, Cantonese, and Putonghua

The appointment will be on renewable contract terms with a competitive salary and performance-linked variable pay. Fringe benefits include paid leave, medical, insurance coverage and contribution to MPF. The incumbent will normally work a five-day week.
