Senior Officer/ Officer, Event and Marketing (Special Project)

The Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI) was founded by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in 2000 with the mission of enhancing Hong Kong’s competitiveness through applied research. ASTRI’s core R&D competence in various areas is grouped under four Technology Divisions: Communications Technologies, Trust and AI Technologies, Integrated Circuits and Systems, and IoT Sensing and AI Technologies.

It is applied across six core areas which are Smart City, Financial Technologies, New Industrialisation and Intelligent Manufacturing, Digital Health, Application Specific Integrated Circuits, and Metaverse.

Over the years, ASTRI has nurtured a pool of research, I&T talents and received numerous international awards for its pioneering innovations as well as outstanding business and community contributions. To date, ASTRI has transferred almost 1400 technologies to the industries and been granted more than 1000 patents in the Mainland, the US, and other countries.

To support our constant endeavour to position Hong Kong as a world-class smart city and an international hub of innovation and technology, we are seeking qualified professionals to fill the following position(s):
 

Job Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the Manager to develop and implement the event and marketing strategy for the summit, ensuring alignment with government funding requirements
• Assist in planning and executing event logistics, including vendor management, scheduling, and on-site coordination
• Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure a smooth event experience, from speaker arrangements and agenda development to content creation and participant engagement activities
• Contribute to the development and execution of marketing campaigns across various channels, such as digital marketing, social media, email marketing, and traditional advertising
• Conduct research on the innovation and technology ecosystem in Hong Kong, gathering insights on key players, trends, and government initiatives to inform event content and marketing strategies
• Establish and nurture relationships with government stakeholders, industry partners, and key influencers to increase support and participation in the summit
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of marketing and event strategies, tracking key performance metrics and providing reports to the management team.
   

Job Requirements:

• A recognised bachelor's degree or above in Marketing, Communications, Event Management, or a related discipline
• With minimum 3 years of experience in event management and marketing roles. Candidates with less experience will be considered as Officer
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
• Familiar with marketing principles and practices, including digital marketing and social media
• Knowledge of the innovation and technology ecosystem in Hong Kong is desirable
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and multitask effectively
• Fluent in both written and spoken English and Chinese.

The appointment will be on renewable contract terms with a competitive salary and performance-linked variable pay. Fringe benefits include paid leave, medical and dental benefits, insurance coverage and contribution to MPF. The incumbent will normally work a five-day week.
