Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI) was founded by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in 2000 with the mission of enhancing Hong Kong’s competitiveness through applied research.
ASTRI’s core R&D competence in various areas is grouped under five Technology Divisions: Advanced Electronic Components and Systems; Artificial Intelligence and Trust Technologies; Communications Technologies; IoT Sensing and AI Technologies; and Intelligent Perception and Control Technologies. It is applied across six core areas which are Smart City, Financial Technologies, New Industrialisation and Intelligent Manufacturing, Digital Health, Application Specific Integrated Circuits and Metaverse.
Over the years, ASTRI has nurtured a pool of research, I&T talents and received numerous international awards for its pioneering innovations as well as outstanding business and community contributions. ASTRI has transferred about 1,600 technologies to the industry and has been granted close to 1,200 patents in the Mainland, the United States, and other countries.
To support our constant endeavour to position Hong Kong as a world-class smart city and an international hub of innovation and technology, we are seeking qualified professionals to fill the following position(s):
The Senior Officer will play a key role in the development and execution of marketing and publicity strategies. This position involves a variety of responsibilities aimed at enhancing ASTRI’s visibility and engagement.
Job Responsibilities:
- Content Creation and Curation: Develop and curate engaging marketing content for social media platforms, websites, and promotional materials to effectively communicate our projects and events.
- Data Collection: Gather essential information from speakers and partner organisations to create impactful marketing materials.
- Promotion Timeline Coordination: Collaborate with internal and external teams to establish and maintain an effective promotion timeline.
- Market Research: Conduct research to gather insights on target audiences and market trends, facilitating informed marketing initiatives.
- Marketing Effectiveness Monitoring: Assist in tracking and analysing the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and activities, utilising basic analytics tools.
- Logistics Management for Events: Support the logistics of events, including venue inspections, equipment arrangements, and transportation coordination.
- Speaker and Audience Recruitment: Identify potential speakers through research and prepare compelling email marketing content and registration forms to attract participants.
- Vendor Coordination: Liaise with design and production vendors to ensure timely delivery of services and adherence to quality standards.
- Event Support: Offer on-site support for events, managing all pre- and post-event activities, including promotion, invitations, enrolment, payments, evaluations, reports, and social media coverage. Collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners for seamless execution.
- Procurement and Order Management: Assist managers in researching potential vendors and preparing procurement documents, ensuring alignment with ASTRI’s guidelines and delivering requirements.
- Administrative Support: Provide administrative assistance to managers, ensuring the smooth operation of day-to-day activities.
- Support Company Events: Contribute to the organisation of corporate events such as MoU signings, company visits, alliance activities, and staff town halls.
- Corporate Sponsorship Assistance: Manage requests for corporate sponsorship and collaboration with supporting organisations.
- Ad-hoc Projects: Undertake additional projects as directed by managers, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, creative media, journalism, design and marketing with at least 3 years’ experience, preferably in event management, design and content marketing
- Good bilingual language capability
- Being result-oriented, organized and passionate to develop a career in Innovation and Technology industry
- Ability to multitask and quickly switch your focus
- Proactive and energetic team player but also would work independently

The appointment will be on renewable contract terms with a competitive salary and performance-linked variable pay. Fringe benefits include paid leave, medical insurance coverage and contribution to MPF. The incumbent will normally work a five-day week.
