Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI) was founded by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in 2000 with the mission of enhancing Hong Kong’s competitiveness through applied research. ASTRI’s core R&D competence in various areas is grouped under five Technology Divisions: Advanced Electronic Components and Systems; Artificial Intelligence and Trust Technologies; Communications Technologies; IoT Sensing and AI Technologies; and Intelligent Perception and Control Technologies.
It is applied across six core areas which are Smart City, Financial Technologies, New Industrialisation and Intelligent Manufacturing, Digital Health, Application Specific Integrated Circuits and Metaverse.
Over the years, ASTRI has nurtured a pool of research, I&T talents and received numerous international awards for its pioneering innovations as well as outstanding business and community contributions. To date, ASTRI has transferred about 1,600 technologies to the industry and has been granted close to 1,200 patents in the Mainland, the United States, and other countries.
To support our constant endeavour to position Hong Kong as a world-class smart city and an international hub of innovation and technology, we are seeking qualified professionals to fill the following position(s):
Job Responsibilities:
- Support and execute strategies to reinforce ASTRI’s leadership in the innovation and technology (I&T) ecosystem across Hong Kong, the Greater Bay Area (GBA), and globally by building strategic alliances and partnerships with industry partner, academia, and government to foster collaboration and innovation.
- Provide support to the business and client development team to drive market expansion through strategic plans aligned with executive priorities and organizational goals.
- Develop the four strategic alliances: Microelectronics Technology, Smart Mobility Technology (C-V2X), Fintech and ESG, and Contech and Protech.
- Build and nurture technology talent ecosystems in Hong Kong, the GBA, and internationally, while exploring alternative funding sources.
- Accelerate market development in Mainland China and globally by fostering partnerships with governments, technology institutions, and universities.
- Represent ASTRI in public forums, speeches, and ecosystem engagement activities.
- Analyze market trends and competitive landscapes to shape strategies and identify new revenue streams for long-term growth.
- Lead the development and execution of corporate communications strategies to enhance ASTRI’s brand and reputation.
- Oversee content creation for press releases, speeches, social media, and other communication channels, ensuring consistency and impact.
- Plan and manage corporate events, including conferences, seminars, and product launches, to strengthen brand visibility.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with media outlets and industry influencers to maximize positive coverage and support corporate objectives.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Business Administration, Communications, Marketing or related disciplines. An MBA or equivalent qualification is highly preferred.
- A minimum 10 years of experience in ecosystem engagement, strategic partnerships, corporate communications, and/or marketing development, preferably within the ICT or innovation and technology sector.
- Proven track record in defining and executing strategies that drive organizational influence and growth across local, regional, and global markets.
- Experience in engaging with government bodies and key stakeholders to drive collaborations and establish strategic partnerships, particularly within the Innovation and Technology sector, is an advantage.
- Ability to lead and develop high-performing teams, fostering collaboration and accountability.
- Assertive, resilient, and organized leader with high integrity, sound business acumen and judgment.
- Excellent negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.Ability to work independently under pressure and deliver results.
- Exceptional command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua).

The appointment will be on renewable contract terms with a competitive salary and performance-linked variable pay. Fringe benefits include paid leave, medical insurance coverage and contribution to MPF. The incumbent will normally work a five-day week.
