Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI) was founded by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in 2000 with the mission of enhancing Hong Kong’s competitiveness through applied research. ASTRI’s core R&D competence in various areas is grouped under five Technology Divisions: Advanced Electronic Components and Systems; Artificial Intelligence and Trust Technologies; Communications Technologies; IoT Sensing and AI Technologies; and Intelligent Perception and Control Technologies.
It is applied across six core areas which are Smart City, Financial Technologies, New Industrialisation and Intelligent Manufacturing, Digital Health, Application Specific Integrated Circuits and Metaverse.
Over the years, ASTRI has nurtured a pool of research, I&T talents and received numerous international awards for its pioneering innovations as well as outstanding business and community contributions. To date, ASTRI has transferred about 1,600 technologies to the industry and has been granted close to 1,200 patents in the Mainland, the United States, and other countries.
To support our constant endeavour to position Hong Kong as a world-class smart city and an international hub of innovation and technology, we are seeking qualified professionals to fill the following position(s):
Position Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Assistant Manager, Technology Marketing, to drive our event management, alliance activities, and marketing initiatives. This role is pivotal in executing high-impact programmes that promote ASTRI's technologies and foster key partnerships. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on executor with a strong understanding of the Innovation & Technology (I&T) landscape, capable of translating technical achievements into compelling market-facing activities.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Project Management, Event & Reporting Execution
- Apply end-to-end project management to plan, execute, and deliver a portfolio of thematic events, including tech seminars, exhibitions, and outbound study missions.
- Curate and manage all event logistics, promotion, and post-event reporting for alliance programmes and other key initiatives.
- Provide regular updates and prepare detailed reports to support key management meetings, ensuring all activities are aligned with strategic objectives.
- Utilize events as a primary tool for audience recruitment, membership drive, and promoting ASTRI’s technology achievements.
2. Alliance Support & Partnership Facilitation
- Proactively support the development and daily operations of ASTRI’s alliances.
- Develop and manage strategic partnerships with government bodies, associations, universities, and industry stakeholders in Hong Kong, GBA and regional to secure support for events and initiatives.
- Drive international outreach efforts to form strategic connections in key regions serving as a bridge between research teams and overseas corporations.
3. Technology Marketing & Demonstration
- Strengthen ASTRI’s market presence by curating and developing technology demonstrations to showcase solutions effectively.
- Translate complex technical projects into accessible content for events, marketing materials, and partner engagements to attract industry partners and public engagement.
4. Budget and Administrative Support
- Assist in the preparation of alliance budget planning, forecasts, and reporting, ensuring alignment with the organisation’s development plans.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Journalism, Communications, Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in an Innovation & Technology (I&T) environment, with a proven track record in event management, partnership facilitation, or technical marketing. Candidates with less experience will also be considered.
- Strong understanding of the Hong Kong and GBA I&T ecosystem; international exposure is a plus.
- Experience in PR and Corporate Communications will be an advantage.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Proactive, results-oriented, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Outstanding communications, writing and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in English and Cantonese; Mandarin is a must.

The appointment will be on renewable contract terms with a competitive salary and performance-linked variable pay. Fringe benefits include paid leave, medical insurance coverage and contribution to MPF. The incumbent will normally work a five-day week.
