The Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI) was founded by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in 2000 with the mission of enhancing Hong Kong’s competitiveness through applied research. ASTRI’s core R&D competence in various areas is grouped under five Technology Divisions: Communications Technologies, Artificial Intelligence and Trust Technologies, Advanced Electronic Components and Systems, IoT Sensing and AI Technologies, and Innovative Mind.
It is applied across six core areas which are Smart City, Financial Technologies, New Industrialisation and Intelligent Manufacturing, Digital Health, Application Specific Integrated Circuits, and Metaverse.
Over the years, ASTRI has nurtured a pool of research, I&T talents and received numerous international awards for its pioneering innovations as well as outstanding business and community contributions. To date, ASTRI has transferred almost 1,500 technologies to the industries and been granted more than 1,100 patents in the Mainland, the US, and other countries.
To support our constant endeavour to position Hong Kong as a world-class smart city and an international hub of innovation and technology, we are seeking qualified professionals to fill the following position(s):
Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the top management team to develop and implement a comprehensive marketing and event strategy for the large-scale summit, at the same time ensuring alignment with the objectives and requirements set by the government funding
- Oversee all aspects of event planning and execution, including venue selection, budgeting, scheduling, logistics, vendor management, and on-site coordination
- Develop and implement effective marketing campaigns to promote the summit, utilising various channels such as digital marketing, social media, email marketing, and traditional advertising
- Conduct thorough research and analysis of the I&T ecosystem in Hong Kong, including key players, trends, policies, and government initiatives, to ensure the event's content and themes are relevant and impactful
- Cultivate strong relationships with government stakeholders, industry partners, and key influencers to maximise support and participation in the summit
- Work closely with internal teams and external partners to coordinate speaker arrangements, agenda development, content creation, and participant engagement activities
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of marketing and event strategies, tracking key performance metrics and providing timely reports to the management team
- Perform other related assignments as required by the supervisor
Job Requirements:
- A recognised bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Event Management, or a related discipline
- With proven 8 years' experience or above in marketing and event management, with a successful track record in planning and executing large-scale events
- Candidate with less qualification will also be considered
- Possess strong marketing and event management skills
- In-depth knowledge of the innovation and technology ecosystem in Hong Kong, including understanding of key industry players, emerging trends, government initiatives, and funding processes
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels
- Demonstrated experience in managing government-funded projects and navigating related processes and regulations is a plus
- Proficiency in digital marketing tools, social media platforms, and event management software
- Creative thinking, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach to identifying and seizing opportunities
- Fluent in English and Chinese (both written and spoken)

The appointment will be on renewable contract terms with a competitive salary and performance-linked variable pay. Fringe benefits include paid leave, medical, insurance coverage and contribution to MPF. The incumbent will normally work a five-day week.
